Rock and water

Being who I am

Standing on the rock

As the waters flow by

Being who I am

Standing on the rock

As the waters flow by

Being who I am

Standing on the rock …

Comment: The events of our lives are often turbulent, at times, overwhelmingly so. In this meditation I picture myself standing in stillness and calm on a rock that is in the middle of a turbulent stream or river. I am choosing at this time to stand, and to wait. Rather than diving in to swim across or against the stream. All around me there are games being played and played out that I am choosing not to be part of. This choice is mine and I can find an inner foundation upon which to make it. It is always there. In fact, even if I am caught by the current, I do not need to desperately swim for it. If I cease to strive against the flow I will find it rising beneath me. This is not being in control of events or situations it is standing still within them in a posture of abandonment to divine providence. Waiting to see what emerges. Quietly trusting it will turn out to be something beautiful and good.
